Adoption UK was established in 1971 and is the only national self-help group run by and for adoptive parents offering support before, during and after adoption. In November 2003 it launched a web-based online community providing people with another way of receiving and giving support to each other.

It promotes high standards of practice in adoption and fostering and social work with children and families. BAAF manages the Adoption Register for England and Wales. This is a database bringing together information on children waiting to be adopted and approved adopters. You can order many books and pamphlets about adoption from BAAF.

for all those affected by adoption. This centre offers a confidential, specialist advice service, counseling and family work for anyone who has been involved in adoption. |
